What is a tahuko in a kankotri?

A tahuko is the short, sweet rhyme printed near the end of a Gujarati kankotri, usually written as if from the little nieces and nephews: 'come to my mama's wedding, and bring lots of love'. It is the line every guest reads twice.

A digital kankotri keeps the tahuko and the ganesh vandana, and adds what a printed card cannot: each function's map, a countdown to the muhurat, and replies from guests.

What to include in a Gujarati wedding invitation

• ॥ શ્રી ગણેશાય નમઃ ॥ and your kuldevi's name
• ચિ. [Var] and ચિ. [Kanya], with their parents
• Ganesh sthapana, mameru, pithi, garba-raas, lagna, reception
• The shubh muhurat for the hastmelap
• Party plot or vadi address with a map
• A tahuko from the nieces and nephews

Send the kankotri four to six weeks before the lagna, with a reminder before garba night. Add each function separately so guests know which day is chaniya choli and which is panetar.
